Fruit Link wishes a very Happy Eid-ul-Adha to all Muslims around the world. (Eid Mubarak)
Eid ul-Adha, or “Festival of Sacrifice” or “Greater Eid” is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims all over the world to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ismael (Isma’il) as an act of obedience to God. Muslims around the world observe this event.
Eid-ul-Adha begins with a prayer followed by a sermon. Eid ul-Adha is celebrated annually on the 10th day of the 12th and the last Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah of the lunar Islamic calendar. Eid ul-Adha celebrations start after the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia by Muslims worldwide. The date is approximately 70 days (2 Months and 10 days) after the end of the month of Ramadan. Ritual observance of the holiday lasts until sunset of the 13th day of Dhu al-Hijjah
How Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Adha “Greater Eid”?
When it comes to celebrating Eid-ul-Adha, it can best be celebrated in the best spirit if a Muslim follows the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him) on that particular day. Some of the major Sunnahs of Prophet (PBUH) when it came to celebrating Eid-ul-Adha are:
- Performing Ghusl on Eid day
- Wearing the best and most beautiful clothes available before going to the mosque for Eid prayer
- Taking one route while going to prayer and coming back from other way around
- Offer the Eid prayer in congregation at the Eid prayer place
- Congratulating all at the congregation as well as all those who meet on the way back home
- Eating nothing in breakfast until the animal was sacrificed and choosing something to eat from its meat
Thus, if a Muslim can follow these Sunnahs then he or she can be assured that they have celebrated Eid-ul-Adha in the rightful and deserving manner.
Best wishes to you and your family for a happy and blessed Eid.
May Allah accept your and our right doings. Eid Mubarak.
